This was my husband and my first newlywed apartment. It's not the best, but we made it our home and we loved it, for the most part. We didn't really have a lot of problems besides a mouse problem that was promptly fixed by maintenance (although it was my poor husband who eventually killed it and threw it out).
Parking is plenty, they added more lights so it's not as dark at night, cute dog park in the back, close to grocery stores and restaurants - no washer and dryer in unit.
Wonderful maintenance and managerial staff.
I loved the apartment itself and it was in an okay area. It had a lot of storage and was pretty modern. They told me there may be some one bedrooms available in July but no one followed up with me so I rented elsewhere.
Maintenance was pretty quick about getting the job done except for one instance last December around Christmas. We came home that night to the entire hallway smelling like gas. We tried to air it out, but the smell wouldn't go away. My husband called maintenance and explained the situation, but the maintenance guy kept trying to dismiss my husband because "the smell wasn't coming from OUR apartment" but finally said he would be on the way. 30 minutes later, still a no show, so my husband decided to just call BGE. He was at our apartment within 15 minutes and was very surprised to see that our own maintenance guy decided to not show up. The BGE man did some investigating into everyone's apartment (all the tenants came out because the smell was so strong) and thanked my husband for calling because nobody else did. Apparently one of our neighbors stove had a gas leak and had to be turned off. I understand that nobody wants to work Christmas night, but I believe a gas leak is a legit problem for a phone call.
Leaundia has great organizational and people skills. Maintenance worker s go beyond the call of duty to assist. Highest recommendation in every category to Plum Tree Apartments.
